I ran into him on the tram on the other side of the city one evening last week and we finally had time to have a chat (in my very limited German and with his handful of English words)

Three things I gleaned from this encounter:

Ali has lived in Berlin for 44 years.

He is a retired doctor but now works as a tailor

He has 18 children

What an amazing life. Can’t wait to learn more

Something about having 18 children is pretty much mindblowingly awesome to me.

I want to believe that one day I will stand back to back with Law and Luffy thanking them and their crew for making me keep fighting. I know this sounds silly but they both helped me so much I can’t really tell why them, but I know that is them who makes me wanna live my life.

Whenever I feel like giving up, I think about what Luffy has done to achieve his dreams. I haven’t lost a limb or two, I haven’t crossed the half the world and had a ransom on my head. I don’t have the right to give up yet. Not before Luffy does. And that is never going to happen.
